Wãnu Yawanawá

Wãnu Yawanawá is a young musician and dedicated student of the spiritual traditions of her people. Born and raised in Mutum Village, in the Yawanawá Indigenous Territory of the Brazilian Amazon, she began walking this path at an early age.

She has undertaken several traditional dietas under the guidance of Pajé Tatá and continues her studies with her aunt Hushahu at Centro Awavena, following the path of the sacred medicines with sensitivity and responsibility.

Gifted with music since childhood, Wãnu was among the first young women in her village to bring Yawanawá songs to the guitar, creating new melodies while remaining rooted in her tradition.

She is the creator of INIA, a musical project through which she shares Yawanawá culture, medicine music and ancestral knowledge. In 2024, she recorded her first album, marking a new chapter in her journey as an artist and cultural voice.
